Peer 2 Peer Fundraising Tool Kit
This Peer-to-Peer Fundraising Toolkit is designed to help you succeed in your fundraising efforts! It includes a variety of resources, such as guidance on setting up your fundraising page, creative fundraising ideas, social media graphics and more. With these tools, you'll have everything you need to engage your community, raise critical funds, and make a lasting impact.
Start Your Personal Fundraising Page
Your fundraising page is a great way to connect with others and share why supporting the pets at the Center is so important to you. Leading by example and being the first to donate can inspire others to contribute and show your commitment. Setting a goal will inspire your community to help you reach it! We recommend choosing an amount that feels both ambitious and achievable. Sharing your personal experience makes it easier to ask for donations and helps others see your passion. Be sure to include photos of your pets when creating your page—personal images make your story even more powerful. Even a small, meaningful gift can make a big difference in the lives of these animals!
Ask for Support
When starting your fundraising journey, begin by reaching out to your inner circle—friends, family, neighbors, and coworkers. Afterward, expand your efforts to include others in your network, such as businesses you frequent or members of groups you're a part of, like a book club, wine club, or fitness group.

Creative ways to Fundraise
- Host a bake sale, garage sale or crafting party
- Create a fun and silly challenge. Example: If I hit $200, I’ll walk the event in a superhero costume.
- Break it down for donors- Example: If 10 friends donate $25, I’ll reach my goal of $250!
- Offer pet sitting, dog walking, or another skill in exchange for donations.
- Create a Facebook fundraiser
- Matching gifts-reach out to your supporters and ask if their companies offer this.
Write a Letter or Email
Email is a quick and powerful way to get the word out about your fundraiser—just keep your message clear, direct, and engaging. Don’t forget the personal touch—adding photos and sharing your reasons for walking will inspire others to act quickly and support your cause. Writing a handwritten letter can still make a big impact—customize it for each audience and include a stamped envelope to make donating even easier! Check out our fundraising tool-kit for templates.
Don’t Forget to Say Thank You
Be sure to thank your donors for their generous support—whether it’s through a heartfelt email, a thank-you card, or a personal phone call. A simple “thank you” goes a long way, but adding a personal touch, like mentioning how their donation helps specific animals, makes it even more meaningful. You can also share updates on your progress or the impact their donation has had, making them feel connected to the cause.
